Children's Learning Center for children with special needs
In southeastern Albania, there are very few support services available for people with special needs and learning disabilities, such as Down syndrome, schizophrenia, and autism.
Many of them have no access to the support that could help them learn, grow, and interact with their surroundings. For families in need in particular, it is nearly impossible to access such assistance.
At Nehemiah Gateway Albania, group therapy and annual summer camps are available for children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities. Here, they learn social interaction and the necessary skills to reach their full potential and manage daily life independently. This provides relief for their caregivers. In the long term, the goal is to open the path to an independent and self-reliant life for them, if possible.
Younger children with disabilities find a loving home and professional support with our partners at “Qendra Drita e Shpresës,” who share the values and goals of Nehemiah Gateway. NG covers the costs for children from families in need.
