On March 5, 2026, interested parties and friends gathered for a very interesting themed evening on the subject of the police.
Pastor Dr. Miriam Groß, formerly a police chaplain with the NYPD, shared and compared her experiences in the largest municipal police department in the US with her work as a chaplain with the German Federal Police.
A Police Chief Inspector provided exciting insights into the work of the Hersbruck Police Department and highlighted the challenges he and his colleagues face on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, one of the scheduled speakers on drug enforcement had to cancel his participation at short notice. Spontaneously, Marlene Mortler stepped in and answered questions about drug use and drug policy in Germany. As former Federal Government Commissioner for Narcotic Drugs and former member of the European Parliament, she was able to draw on a wealth of experience.
The format of the event allowed plenty of time for questions and contributions from the audience, many of whom are themselves active in local and state politics.
The forum event was organized in cooperation with the Hersbrucker Schweiz Adult Education Center.
Further themed evenings on exciting and relevant topics are planned as part of the NG Forum.
